Located at the Four Seasons Hotel, Jean-Georges Philadelphia, SkyHigh, and Vernick Fish have garnered remarkable ratings. Furthermore, a new venue, Fleur’s, is set to open in East Kensington in Spring 2025, featuring a restaurant focusing on French cuisine, among other amenities, showcasing the growing significance of hotel dining experiences for both guests and locals.
Philadelphia is home to three of the top hotel restaurants in the United States, according to OpenTable’s recent findings. The restaurants are situated within the esteemed Four Seasons Hotel and have received high praise from diners, further solidifying their status as culinary destinations. The featured establishments include Jean-Georges Philadelphia, which boasts an impressive rating of 4.9 stars based on 1,480 reviews, SkyHigh with a rating of 4.7 stars from 3,108 reviews, and Vernick Fish at 4.8 stars from 2,430 reviews.
As hotel owners increasingly recognize the integral role of restaurants in enhancing guest experiences, it is evident that the appeal of these dining options extends beyond hotel guests to local residents. Surveys conducted by OpenTable and KAYAK reveal that 73% of Americans are likely to return to a hotel if they have a positive dining experience at its restaurant, showcasing the connection between hospitality services and culinary excellence.
In addition to these celebrated dining options, a new venue is set to open in East Kensington. Fleur’s is a 14,000 square-foot space that will include a two-floor restaurant, a six-room boutique hotel, event space, and a rooftop bar with an open-air patio. Hospitality professionals Josh Mann, Graham Gernsheimer, and Chef George Sabatino are behind this venture, with plans for the eatery to focus on French cuisine, expected to open in the spring of 2025.
To celebrate the upcoming opening, an exclusive event titled “A First Taste of Fleur’s” is slated for April 19, featuring a five-course dinner priced at $135 per ticket. Fleur’s will cater to an intimate dining experience with a total of 30 seats, including 18 at a bar which will transition into a raw bar. Private dining accommodations will also be provided, featuring a room with a dozen seats, alongside two open-air patios and a dedicated kitchen for the event space situated on the fifth floor.
The initial dining hours for Fleur’s are set from Sundays to Thursdays, 5 to 10 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays, 5 to 11 p.m., along with an inviting weekend brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. A happy hour during weekdays will offer selections that include oysters, clams, and various small plates. The menu will be characterized by seasonal produce sourced from local farms to ensure flexibility and freshness as ingredients change throughout the year.
Chef George Sabatino, who has previously earned recognition at notable establishments, is committed to delivering intentionally crafted, high-quality cuisine at Fleur’s. The venue’s design, led by Lisa A Calabro, aims to reflect the building’s historical character while seamlessly integrating modern elements. The location of Fleur’s had previously been vacant for over a decade before this innovative project brought new life to the area.
