Specifically, total iGaming revenue reached $232.9 million in May 2025, which marks a dramatic 33.76% increase year-over-year. Breaking it down, online slots accounted for $177.2 million, followed by online table games with $52.9 million, and online poker contributing $2.8 million. Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course emerged as the leading operator, generating $90.1 million in iGaming revenue, an increase of 38.4% from the previous year. Other notable operators include Valley Forge Casino Resort with $64.1 million in revenue—a remarkable 44.4% year-on-year increase—and Rivers Casino Philadelphia, which reported $36.9 million, up 18% from 2024.
Sports betting revenue also saw substantial growth, increasing 34.39% to $59.4 million in May 2025. Online sports betting accounted for a staggering $56.4 million, while retail sportsbooks contributed $3 million. The total sports betting handle reached $655.4 million, reflecting a 10.7% increase from the previous year. Leading the sports betting market were FanDuel and Valley Forge Casino Resort, which generated $28.4 million in revenue, followed by DraftKings in partnership with Hollywood Casino at the Meadows, reporting $15.7 million.
In terms of traditional gambling, revenue from retail slot machines amounted to $224.9 million, marking a 5.02% year-over-year increase despite a reduction in the number of slot machines available. However, revenue from land-based table games saw a notable decline of 4.55%, totaling $79.9 million, while revenue from video gaming terminals at truck stops yielded $3.7 million, reflecting a small 0.1% decrease. Fantasy sports revenue also fell by 5.4%, decreasing to $1.1 million compared to the prior year.
The state of Pennsylvania collected $255.1 million in taxes from gaming activities during May 2025, comprised of $104.6 million from iGaming, $21.4 million from sports betting, $113.7 million from retail slots, and $13.4 million from table games.
