News Summary

Patton Logistics Group has announced its acquisition of Milton Transportation and Warehousing, along with BTR Inc., set to finalize on June 27, 2023. This strategic acquisition will enhance Patton’s logistics capacity with additional trucks, trailers, and warehouse space. By integrating Milton’s operations, Patton aims to expand its footprint in central Pennsylvania and improve overall service efficiency. The move is part of Patton’s broader strategy to grow in the competitive logistics sector while continuing to adapt to industry demands.

Milton, Pennsylvania – Patton Logistics Group has announced it will acquire Milton Transportation and Warehousing, along with its sister company, BTR Inc. The acquisition is set to be finalized on June 27, 2023. This strategic move marks a significant expansion for Patton Logistics Group, enhancing its capacity and services in the competitive logistics sector.

Founded in 1941, Milton Transportation specializes in flatbed and dry van freight. The addition of Milton and BTR to the Patton family will provide Watsontown Trucking Company—an affiliated entity of Patton—with 40 extra trucks, 300 trailers, two truck maintenance facilities, and a body and alignment shop. Furthermore, Patton Warehousing will integrate Milton’s warehousing operations, increasing its footprint by an additional 200,000 square feet of warehouse space located in Milton, Pennsylvania.

This acquisition is part of a broader growth strategy for Patton Logistics Group, which offers freight transportation and comprehensive logistics services across North America. Currently, Patton operates an extensive fleet consisting of 525 trucks and 1,800 trailers, combined with over 5.2 million square feet of warehouse space through its various subsidiaries, including Watsontown Trucking Company, Patton Warehousing, and Patton Logistics.

Steve Patton, president of Patton Logistics Group, has outlined that the acquisition aligns with the company’s goal of expanding its operational footprint in central Pennsylvania. It is expected to enhance overall logistics services, deepen market presence, and improve customer satisfaction with end-to-end logistics solutions.

In addition to the acquisition, Patton Logistics Group has also been expanding its freight brokerage division, indicating a robust growth plan capable of adapting to the evolving demands of the logistics industry. With a workforce of over 1,000 employees across Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, New Jersey, and Ohio, the company stands poised to increase its market share significantly.

The new integration with Milton Transportation and BTR will also allow Patton Warehousing the potential for future development, with plans to expand up to 350,000 additional square feet of warehouse space. This positions Patton Logistics Group as a key player in the logistics space, capable of meeting diverse customer needs effectively.

Prior to this announcement, Patton Logistics Group made headlines with its $10 million expansion investment aimed at establishing a new 100,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution facility in southwest Virginia. This indicates the company’s strong commitment to continuous growth and development within the logistics sector.

Overall, the acquisition of Milton Transportation and BTR Inc. not only increases resources and capacity but will likely lead to enhancements in overall service and operational efficiency within Patton Logistics Group’s rapidly growing network. As the logistics landscape evolves, this move exemplifies Patton’s proactive approach to meeting emerging challenges and opportunities.
