An auto shop under investigation after recent burglaries in Northeast Philadelphia, highlighting the ongoing police efforts.
19-year-old Marcos Neto is wanted by Philadelphia police for a series of burglaries targeting auto shops and businesses in Northeast Philadelphia. The string of crimes has occurred over several months, with Neto captured on surveillance during various incidents. Authorities believe he is armed and possibly hearing impaired, raising public safety concerns. Police urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to report it immediately, as they continue to investigate the escalating crime trend in the area.
The police department reported that the rash of burglaries spans several months, beginning in February 2025. Over this period, numerous auto repair shops and industrial businesses have fallen prey to thefts primarily executed during the early morning hours. Surveillance footage has captured Neto in several instances, during which he was recognized by distinctive tattoos on his right hand and neck. In some instances, he has attempted to obscure these tattoos, such as covering his hand while committing the crimes.
The crimes attributed to Neto and his accomplices include a significant burglary on February 15, 2025, at the Royal Car Center located on East Roosevelt Boulevard, where a suspect was filmed breaking a side glass window and stealing three iPhones. The owner of Royal Car Center described feeling helpless as his business was vandalized.
On May 5, 2025, police responded to a call from the Northeast Community Auto Center, where Neto was caught on surveillance video attempting to break in. The footage revealed that he fired multiple shots at the glass entrance before fleeing through a second-floor window, which raises safety concerns regarding his potentially armed status. On May 7, he was recorded at Guardo Body Shop, armed with a handgun and carrying a rivet tool, further establishing his involvement in these criminal acts.
In addition to targeting auto shops, Neto’s alleged activities expanded to other locations. On May 10, another suspect, linked to this string of burglaries, was reported to have stolen three buffer machines from Guardo Body Shop. Additionally, on May 24, a break-in was reported at King’s Deli, where lottery tickets were stolen, and the cash register was damaged.
As the month continued, multiple incidents occurred on May 25, 2025. A recycling business on Fraley Street was ransacked, and two cell phones were reported stolen. During the same day, there was an attempted break-in at Christian Auto that was captured on surveillance but did not result in any theft. Yafro Towing also reported a break-in that led to the loss of various tools and equipment.
Lastly, on May 26, a suspect resembling Neto was seen cutting through a fence at J&M Windows & Doors and leaving the scene with a large box. The ongoing investigations have confirmed that all reported burglaries involved forced entry, further emphasizing the trend of escalating criminal behavior.
Authorities have expressed heightened concerns regarding public safety, noting that Neto is believed to be armed and possibly hearing impaired. The Northeast Detective Division is urging anyone who may have information about Neto’s whereabouts to come forward. They specifically advise the public not to approach him directly due to safety risks associated with his potential armed status.
The police are accepting anonymous tips and encourage individuals to report any relevant information via phone or through the Philadelphia police website, assuring confidentiality for all submitted tips.
As the investigation continues, community members are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity that may relate to this ongoing crime spree.
